I have been looking forward to sharing Jenna and Jake’s stunning Hill-Stead Museum wedding for quite a while! I have teased pictures on social media here and there, but it’s time to share some more details and behind-the-scenes from this precious couple’s big day.
Jenna and Jake were the sweetest couple. When they reached out to me to help plan their Connecticut wedding, they had quite a bit going on. Not only were they expecting their first child, and buying a house (and adopting a dog), but they also lived in Florida- not quite down the road from their Farmington, Connecticut wedding venue. Working with out-of-state couples can pose challenges, but their big day and the lead-up went off without a hitch.
The out-of-towners hired me for a full-service package, which meant I was there from the very beginning stages of planning. Jenna and Jake trusted me to source and narrow down the perfect vendors for their wedding ceremony and reception.
A benefit of hiring Simply Loved Weddings is that I have been coordinating weddings in New England for over 9 years, so I come armed with an arsenal of vendors I recommend wholeheartedly. These vendors fall in a wide range of budgets and styles.
One of the best parts of a Hill-Stead Museum wedding are the breathtaking views, making it the ideal location for the couple to exchange their vows. After the picturesque outdoor ceremony, the festivities shifted to the tented reception area.
I love how a tented reception provides a blank canvas for couples and their vendors to bring their unique vision to life. The dark wood tables and chairs, paired with delicate white florals, created a naturally beautiful scene against the historic ground’s leafy backdrop.
Also matching the lush surrounds was Jake’s dark green tuxedo. A fun twist on the menswear classic.
The donut wall was created by yours truly, early in my wedding planning days. It had been waiting for its moment to shine for years and I have never been so excited to hear a couple mention donuts.
The Cocktail Car CT provided a both a mobile bar and adorable photo op for the festivities.
