When it comes to planning the perfect wedding, there are a lot of important choices to be made; what to wear, who to hire, and most importantly--- where it will be. There are so many options that it can often become overwhelming. That is why we’ve compiled a list of the pros and cons of different wedding reception venues to help make that big decision a little bit easier!
I can’t express enough how amazing this experience was. as a coordinator at a typical wedding show it’s hard to show couples what i do and the benefit of working with a coordinator. i don’t necessarily have a physical product that shows or promotes what exactly a coordinator does, so having the experience to show attendees myself in action was something great. i had the opportunity to really show potential clients, what i do, how i do it and the personality and passion i do it with. it was a great way to show the role of coordinator as well as a chance to see if i’m the right fit for them, which is something important since we will spend a lot of time together.
Within literally minutes of arriving at our airbnb, we lost the keys.
Luckily, the owners had a spare set, but we spent a while searching the front walk and digging through our bags. at one point, i asked, “hey babe, do you mind if i check your duffel one more time?” and Jake said, “no prob, go ahead.” which meant there was not a ring in there. and that kind of freaked me out.
I had never been to Florida before it had always been a dream so going with my bestie was just amazing!! on our 3rd day in florida we went to magic kingdom, i bought some minnie ears and was soaking in every single little thing, the people, smells, characters, the castle! amazing! as we got closer to the castle Matthew said to me ‘shall we have a picture in front of the castle before we start our day and before it gets too busy?’ i replied with ‘yeah okay but let’s hurry as we have a fast pass to space mountain and i want to get on there’. we reach the castle and Matthew says to me ‘look there’s a photographer stood all on his own’ (it was literally meant to be) he went and got the photographer brought him over this photographer is extremely over the top ‘let’s have you here let’s do this’ Matthew had a fanny pack on and turned to me and said ‘shall i keep this on or take it off?’ at this point between the photographer, missing space mountain and him asking about his fanny pack i was getting a little frustrated.
We had started our trip by visiting the new england ski museum in franconia nh + hiking flume gorge. we also drove down the kancamagus highway several times (if you haven’t done that, i highly recommend that drive, especially in the fall with all of the foliage). we had decided that we would also visit mount washington during our trip. on october 17, 2017 we took train up mount washington which was something both of us had never done before (our parents always drove to the summit as kids). the summit was a chilly 5 degrees with the wind chill but the views were breath-taking. the skies were beautiful + clear. after taking pictures by the summit sign (6288′)
I met Kate a few years back in a facebook group – which i’ll leave out of this blog, i was posting about a free pass i had for a workout in the nyc area. kate responded to my post saying she would love to take it off my hands. we decided to meet up at a bar for a few drinks so i could give her the pass and we could meet. well as most women do we threw back a few drinks + got talking. in talking we quickly found out that both our boyfriends at the time had been freshman year roommates at the same school. we had known they went to the same school, but had no clue they knew each other until i mentioned my now ex’s name + kate recognized it. how funny was that? looking back i’m certain someone out there had that planned.
At kleinfeld’s i learned the ins and outs of the bridal world. i spoke to designers and photographers, people who had been submerged in the industry for 20+ years and i received the education of a lifetime. i got first hand experience not just in making sure a bride looks good and feels good on her day, but a brides, and couples real thoughts and stressors for their big day. with every bride and every appointment i was constantly learning, learning to weed through a multitude of opinions to find the one that truly mattered, learning what could and couldn’t be customized about a dress, and learning how truly special a wedding day was to a bride.
I had gotten this idea stuck in my head that i needed a job that would make me a lot of money and make me super cool (it was freshman year! everyone wants to be cool freshman year!). it took all of christmas break, most of which i spent lying in bed sick (note to future college students, if one person on the floor is sick you all get sick #noboundries), for me to realize that my dream job the one i secretly wanted deep down was a cool job! i had been worried that people would see my job as less-than. i didn’t want to be seen as a failure or an underachiever.
