I’m a strong believer of working smarter not harder. Wedding planning can easily go from fun too far from enjoyable in a matter of moments. If you’re not working with a Planner/Coordinator it can be hard to know whats out there to help you out. We’re letting you in on a secret! Five of our favorite apps that make wedding planning a breeze and free you up to enjoy your everyday life!
Minted is our go to for save the dates, invites and a wedding website. They offer so many different style options and are continually adding in new samples. You can pick from a vast selection of paper types, fonts and bundles. Also offered are custom design options. If you don’t see something you like you can have it made.
Minted is also a great place to host your wedding website. You’re able to choose from a template and make it your own. The site can be both public or private. You’re able to link photos, your hotel block and your registry for guests.
Times are changing! Most couples live together prior to their wedding, meaning there is less need for the ‘typical’ registry home goods. Honeyfund is a great place for your guests to contribute to a unique one of a kind gift. They can contribute to a honeymoon or house fund! You can set up a profile and guests can help contribute towards your first major purchases as a married couple. Without the stress of needing to add bath towels or a mixer to your registry, you can ask guests to help you celebrate you love with an experience.
You may be saying, ‘why Gmail ?’ well the hidden gem here is it gives you the ability to create a free wedding email address. Wedding planning can sometimes be a year plus of reaching out to vendors, signing up for blogs and email lists and even entering giveaways. Creating a unique wedding email gives you one place where all your vendor communication can live. You can sync it with your calendar and add in payment dates and other notes. You are also able to both access it and ensure nothing wedding related gets lost in your every day inbox.
The other bonus is that after your wedding is over your personal inbox wont continue to be boggled down with wedding spam emails!
Gone are the days of keeping an address book, and who has the time to text/call/email every family member and friend for their address. Postable is our go to when it comes to collecting addresses. You simply create a free account, create a form with all the information you may need, generate a link and send it out to family and friends. They will input their information and you’re able to download an excel file with everyones address which you can then upload when ordering save the dates/invitations.
Wrapping it up here with one of our all time favorites, SocialTables! SocialTables is the holy grail when it comes too layouts and seating charts. Its a completely free application where you simply enter the venue/space dimensions and you can drag and drop tables, chairs, a dance floor, DJ etc. into place and see it all come together. You’re also able to assign guests to tables making your seating chart easy to manage.
Once its time for your wedding you then simply download the layout and seating arrangement and provide to your venue or whoever is setting the space up for you.
